Translation of The Holy Quran

33. Al-Ahzab (the Combined Forces)

مَّا كَانَ مُحَمَّدٌ أَبَا أَحَدٍ مِّن رِّجَالِكُمْ وَلَكِن رَّسُولَ اللَّهِ وَخَاتَمَ النَّبِيِّينَ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمًا(40)

محمد (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) تمہارے مَردوں میں سے کسی کے باپ نہیں ہیں لیکن وہ اللہ کے رسول ہیں اور سب انبیاء کے آخر میں (سلسلۂ نبوت ختم کرنے والے) ہیں، اور اللہ ہر چیز کا خوب علم رکھنے والا ہے

Muhammad (blessings and peace be upon him) is not the father of any of your men, but he is the Messenger of Allah and the Last of the Prophets (ending the chain of the Prophets). And Allah is the Perfect Knower of everything.

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اذْكُرُوا اللَّهَ ذِكْرًا كَثِيرًا(41)

اے ایمان والو! تم اللہ کا کثرت سے ذکر کیا کرو

O Believers! Keep remembering Allah abundantly.

وَسَبِّحُوهُ بُكْرَةً وَأَصِيلًا(42)

اور صبح و شام اس کی تسبیح کیا کرو

And glorify Him morning and evening.

هُوَ الَّذِي يُصَلِّي عَلَيْكُمْ وَمَلَائِكَتُهُ لِيُخْرِجَكُم مِّنَ الظُّلُمَاتِ إِلَى النُّورِ وَكَانَ بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ رَحِيمًا(43)

وہی ہے جو تم پر درود بھیجتا ہے اور اس کے فرشتے بھی، تاکہ تمہیں اندھیروں سے نکال کر نور کی طرف لے جائے اور وہ مومنوں پر بڑی مہربانی فرمانے والا ہے

He is the One Who sends peace and blessings on you and His angels as well, so that He may take you out of the layers of darkness into the light. And He is Ever-Merciful to the believers.

تَحِيَّتُهُمْ يَوْمَ يَلْقَوْنَهُ سَلَامٌ وَأَعَدَّ لَهُمْ أَجْرًا كَرِيْمًا(44)

جس دن وہ (مومِن) اس سے ملاقات کریں گے تو ان (کی ملاقات) کا تحفہ سلام ہوگا، اور اس نے ان کے لئے بڑی عظمت والا اجر تیار کر رکھا ہے

On the Day when they (the believers) will meet Him, their gift (of the meeting — greeting) will be: ‘Peace!’ And He has kept ready for them most honourable reward.

يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ شَاهِدًا وَمُبَشِّرًا وَنَذِيرًا(45)

اے نبیِ (مکرّم!) بیشک ہم نے آپ کو (حق اور خَلق کا) مشاہدہ کرنے والا اور (حُسنِ آخرت کی) خوشخبری دینے والا اور (عذابِ آخرت کا) ڈر سنانے والا بنا کر بھیجا ہے

O (Esteemed) Prophet! Surely We have sent you as a Witness (to the Truth and the Creation), a Bearer of glad tidings (of the Beauty of the Hereafter) and a Warner (of the Torment in the Hereafter),

وَدَاعِيًا إِلَى اللَّهِ بِإِذْنِهِ وَسِرَاجًا مُّنِيرًا(46)

اور اس کے اِذن سے اللہ کی طرف دعوت دینے والا اور منوّر کرنے والا آفتاب (بنا کر بھیجا ہے)

And (as) an Inviter towards Allah by His Command and as a Sun spreading Light.

وَبَشِّرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ بِأَنَّ لَهُم مِّنَ اللَّهِ فَضْلًا كَبِيرًا(47)

اور اہلِ ایمان کو اس بات کی بشارت دے دیں کہ ان کے لئے اللہ کا بڑا فضل ہے (کہ وہ اس خاتم الانبیاء کی نسبتِ غلامی میں ہیں)

And give good news to the believers that there is for them Allah’s great Bounty (that they are cloaked in the affinity of slavery to this Final Messenger of Allah).

وَلَا تُطِعِ الْكَافِرِينَ وَالْمُنَافِقِينَ وَدَعْ أَذَاهُمْ وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللَّهِ وَكَفَى بِاللَّهِ وَكِيلًا(48)

اور آپ کافروں اور منافقوں کا (یہ) کہنا (کہ ہمارے ساتھ مذہبی سمجھوتہ کر لیں ہرگز) نہ مانیں اور اُن کی ایذاء رسانی سے درگزر فرمائیں، اور اﷲ پر بھروسہ (جاری) رکھیں، اور اﷲ ہی (حق و باطل کی معرکہ آرائی میں) کافی کارساز ہے

And never (ever) agree to what the disbelievers and hypocrites say: (conclude with us a religious agreement). And disregard their hurtful misbehaviour, and maintain your trust in Allah (with persistence). And Allah alone is Sufficient as a Guardian (in the conflict between the Truth and falsehood).

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِذَا نَكَحْتُمُ الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ ثُمَّ طَلَّقْتُمُوهُنَّ مِن قَبْلِ أَن تَمَسُّوهُنَّ فَمَا لَكُمْ عَلَيْهِنَّ مِنْ عِدَّةٍ تَعْتَدُّونَهَا فَمَتِّعُوهُنَّ وَسَرِّحُوهُنَّ سَرَاحًا جَمِيلًا(49)

اے ایمان والو! جب تم مومن عورتوں سے نکاح کرو پھر تم انہیں طلاق دے دو قبل اس کے کہ تم انہیں مَس کرو (یعنی خلوتِ صحیحہ کرو) تو تمہارے لئے ان پر کوئی عدّت (واجب) نہیں ہے کہ تم اسے شمار کرنے لگو، پس انہیں کچھ مال و متاع دو اور انہیں اچھی طرح حُسنِ سلوک کے ساتھ رخصت کرو

O Believers! When you marry the believing women and then divorce them before you have touched them (i.e. had sexual intercourse with them), then no waiting period is (obligatory) on them for you which you may start counting. So give them some provision and send them off nicely extending to them excellent morality.
