Translation of The Holy Quran

74. Al-Mudaththir (the Cloaked)

يَا أَيُّهَا الْمُدَّثِّرُO(1)

اے چادر اوڑھنے والے (حبیب!)o

O enwrapped (Beloved!)

قُمْ فَأَنذِرْO(2)

اُٹھیں اور (لوگوں کو اللہ کا) ڈر سنائیںo

Rise and give warning (to the people).

وَرَبَّكَ فَكَبِّرْO(3)

اور اپنے رب کی بڑائی (اور عظمت) بیان فرمائیںo

And glorify the Greatnesss (and Majesty) of your Lord.

وَثِيَابَكَ فَطَهِّرْO(4)

اور اپنے (ظاہر و باطن کے) لباس (پہلے کی طرح ہمیشہ) پاک رکھیںo

And (always) keep your (visible and spiritual) attire purified and cleansed (as before).

وَالرُّجْزَ فَاهْجُرْO(5)

اور (حسبِ سابق گناہوں اور) بتوں سے الگ رہیںo

And keep away from the idols (and sins as usual).

وَلَا تَمْنُن تَسْتَكْثِرُO(6)

اور (اس غرض سے کسی پر) احسان نہ کریں کہ اس سے زیادہ کے طالب ہوںo

And do not do favour (to anyone with the purpose of) seeking more from him.

وَلِرَبِّكَ فَاصْبِرْO(7)

اور آپ اپنے رب کے لئے صبر کیا کریںo

And observe patience for the sake of your Lord.

فَإِذَا نُقِرَ فِي النَّاقُورِO(8)

پھر جب (دوبارہ) صور میں پھونک ماری جائے گیo

Then when the Trumpet will be blown (a second time),

فَذَلِكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَوْمٌ عَسِيرٌO(9)

سو وہ دن (یعنی روزِ قیامت) بڑا ہی سخت دن ہوگاo

So that Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) will be an extremely hard day,

عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ غَيْرُ يَسِيرٍO(10)

کافروں پر ہرگز آسان نہ ہوگاo

Not at all easy for the disbelievers.
