Translation of The Holy Quran

84. Al-Inshiqaq (the Splitting Asunder)

إِذَا السَّمَاءُ انشَقَّتْO(1)

جب (سب) آسمانی کرّے پھٹ جائیں گےo

When (all) the heavenly bodies will split asunder,

وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْO(2)

اور اپنے رب کا حکمِ (اِنشقاق) بجا لائیں گے اور (یہی تعمیلِ اَمر) اُس کے لائق ہےo

And obey the Command of their Lord (with regard to the catastrophic split-up) and (it is this implementation of the Command) that they are bound to do,

وَإِذَا الْأَرْضُ مُدَّتْO(3)

اور جب زمین (ریزہ ریزہ کر کے) پھیلا دی جائے گیo

And when the earth will be flattened out (after it is broken into dust particles),

وَأَلْقَتْ مَا فِيهَا وَتَخَلَّتْO(4)

اور جو کچھ اس کے اندر ہے وہ اسے نکال باہر پھینکے گی اور خالی ہو جائے گیo

And it will cast out all that is inside it and become empty,

وَأَذِنَتْ لِرَبِّهَا وَحُقَّتْO(5)

اور (وہ بھی) اپنے رب کا حکمِ (اِنشقاق) بجا لائے گی اور (یہی اِطاعت) اُس کے لائق ہےo

And (it) will (also) obey the Command of its Lord (with regard to catastrophic split-up) and (it is this obedience) which it is worthy of.

يَا أَيُّهَا الْإِنسَانُ إِنَّكَ كَادِحٌ إِلَى رَبِّكَ كَدْحًا فَمُلَاقِيهِO(6)

اے انسان! تو اپنے رب تک پہنچنے میں سخت مشقتیں برداشت کرتا ہے بالآخر تجھے اسی سے جا ملنا ہےo

O man! You sustain rigours to reach your Lord. Ultimately you shall meet Him.

فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ بِيَمِينِهِO(7)

پس جس شخص کا نامۂ اعمال اس کے داہنے ہاتھ میں دیا جائے گاo

So as for him who will be given his record in his right hand,

فَسَوْفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابًا يَسِيرًاO(8)

تو عنقریب اس سے آسان سا حساب لیا جائے گاo

He will soon be given an easy reckoning,

وَيَنقَلِبُ إِلَى أَهْلِهِ مَسْرُورًاO(9)

اور وہ اپنے اہلِ خانہ کی طرف مسرور و شاداں پلٹے گاo

And will return to his family rejoicing.

وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ وَرَاءَ ظَهْرِهِO(10)

اور البتہ وہ شخص جس کا نامۂ اعمال اس کی پیٹھ کے پیچھے سے دیا جائے گاo

And as for him who shall be given his record behind his back,
