68. سورة الْقَلَم

 ن وَالْقَلَمِ وَمَا يَسْطُرُونَO(1)

نون (حقیقی معنی اللہ اور رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم ہی بہتر جانتے ہیں)، قلم کی قَسم اور اُس (مضمون) کی قَسم جو (فرشتے) لکھتے ہیںo

Nun. (Only Allah and the Messenger [blessings and peace be upon him] know the real meaning.) By the pen and by that (subject) which (the angels) write down!

مَا أَنتَ بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ بِمَجْنُونٍO(2)

(اے حبیبِ مکرّم!) آپ اپنے رب کے فضل سے (ہرگز) دیوانے نہیں ہیںo

(O Esteemed Beloved!) By the Grace of your Lord you are not (at all) insane.

وَإِنَّ لَكَ لَأَجْرًا غَيْرَ مَمْنُونٍO(3)

اور بے شک آپ کے لئے ایسا اَجر ہے جو کبھی ختم نہ ہوگاo

And assuredly for you there is a reward that will never end.

وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلى خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٍO(4)

اور بے شک آپ عظیم الشان خلق پر قائم ہیں (یعنی آدابِ قرآنی سے مزّین اور اَخلاقِ اِلٰہیہ سے متّصف ہیں)o

And assuredly you are placed high on the Most Glorious and Exalted (seat of) Character (i.e. adorned with the Qur’anic morality and endowed with the character traits of Allah).

فَسَتُبْصِرُ وَيُبْصِرُونَO(5)

پس عنقریب آپ (بھی) دیکھ لیں گے اور وہ (بھی) دیکھ لیں گےo

Soon you will see and they (too) will see,

بِأَيـيِّكُمُ الْمَفْتُونُO(6)

کہ تم میں سے کون دیوانہ ہےo

As to which of you is mad.

إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن سَبِيلِهِ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِالْمُهْتَدِينَO(7)

بے شک آپ کا رب اس شخص کو (بھی) خوب جانتا ہے جو اس کی راہ سے بھٹک گیا ہے، اور وہ ان کو (بھی) خوب جانتا ہے جو ہدایت یافتہ ہیںo

Surely your Lord knows him best who has strayed from the straight path and (also) knows best those who are rightly guided.

فَلَا تُطِعِ الْمُكَذِّبِينَO(8)

سو آپ جھٹلانے والوں کی بات نہ مانیںo

So do not agree with what the beliers say.

وَدُّوا لَوْ تُدْهِنُ فَيُدْهِنُونَO(9)

وہ تو چاہتے ہیں کہ (دین کے معاملے میں) آپ (بے جا) نرمی اِختیار کر لیں تو وہ بھی نرم پڑ جائیں گےo

They wish that you should become (needlessly) flexible (in the matter of Din [Religion]). Then they too would show flexibility.

وَلَا تُطِعْ كُلَّ حَلَّافٍ مَّهِينٍO(10)

اور آپ کسی ایسے شخص کی بات نہ مانیں جو بہت قَسمیں کھانے والا اِنتہائی ذلیل ہےo

And do not agree with any vile, most mean swearer of oaths,
